What this does
This page lists every degree program the site has on record for one school, split into Undergraduate Programs and Graduate Programs. Each program appears as a chip with its credential and roughly how many students finish it each year. When the school has a usable tuition figure, clicking a chip opens the ROI Calculator for that program at that school.
It helps a student see the full menu at a school before choosing a field, a parent check whether a school is large or small in a given program, and a counselor look up what a school without tuition data still teaches.
Before you start
- You reach this page from a school. Click a school card that says View programs → on Schools with no tuition data. The link carries the school, so the page knows which one to show. Opened with no school, the page goes to Schools with no tuition data so you can pick one.
- Pick the school's state. Use Showing data for. With no state set the page shows only Pick a state to see this school's programs. and the state menu. The programs are read from the chosen state's data, so keep the menu on the state where the school is. If you arrived from a link with no state set, picking the school's state keeps the school.
- You do not need an account.
Step by step
- Click View programs → on a school card. The page opens with the school's name as the title and Loading programs… below.
- Read the line under the title: the city, the state's name and the school type, for example "City · State · Public".
- Read the notice under it. Click any program below to launch the ROI calculator pre-filled for that degree at this school. means the chips are links. Tuition data is not available for this school — it is excluded from ROI calculations. The programs listed below reflect available completion records. means they are not.
- Type in Search programs (the box reads e.g. Computer Science, Nursing, Business…) to keep programs whose name contains your text. The count line beside the level menu changes to "N programs shown".
- Choose Undergraduate or Graduate in Level to show one block only, or All for both.
- Read a chip: the program name, then "credential · N grads/yr" in Texas, or "credential · N graduates (latest year)" in other states.
- If the chips are links, click one. The ROI Calculator opens with this school, this program and its level already filled in.
Every control explained
| Control | Where | What it changes | Default | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Showing data for | Top of the page | The state whose data the page reads. Picking a state reloads the page. | The state you last picked on this device | Switching from one state to another drops the school, because a school belongs to one state, and takes you to Schools with no tuition data for the new state. |
| Search programs (box reads e.g. Computer Science, Nursing, Business…) | Filter card | Keeps programs whose name contains what you type (capitals do not matter) | Empty | Filters instantly, without reloading. It matches one run of text, so "computer science" finds "Computer Science" but not "Computer and Information Sciences". |
| Level | Filter card, next to the count | All, Undergraduate or Graduate. Hides the other block. | All | Combines with the search. |
| Program chip | Undergraduate Programs and Graduate Programs blocks | When the school has usable tuition: opens the ROI Calculator for this program at this school, at the chip's level. Otherwise the chip is plain text and does nothing. | — | The calculator opens with the same state. You can still change every input there. |
Reading the results
| Item | Meaning | Unit | Source and year | How it is computed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Title | The school's name | Text | Carried over from the card you clicked | Shows Unknown School if the link had no name. |
| Meta line (city · state · type) | Where the school is and what kind of school it is | Text | IPEDS institution records (newest year) | The state's full name appears only when the school is in the state you have chosen; it is left out otherwise. School type in plain words: Public, Private nonprofit, Private for-profit or Community college; left out when not reported. |
| Notice line | Whether the school can be modelled in the ROI Calculator | — | IPEDS tuition, with the College Scorecard as a fallback | The school counts as having tuition when its in-state tuition is more than $0 and at most $80,000 a year, from the newest IPEDS year with a usable figure or, failing that, from the College Scorecard. |
| This school is not in the latest federal College Scorecard release. | The school has dropped out of the newest College Scorecard release | — | College Scorecard, newest release | Only this line is shown; the search and programs are hidden. |
| Count line (N programs shown) | Programs left after the search and level | Programs | — | Counts both blocks together. |
| Chip title | The program's field of study | Name | NCES Classification of Instructional Programs, 2020 edition | Unclassified and untitled programs are left out. |
| Credential (first part of the chip's second line) | The award the program leads to | Label | Same as the program list | In plain words, for example Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Graduate Certificate, Master's Degree, Doctoral Degree. |
| N grads/yr (Texas) / N graduates (latest year) (other states) | Roughly how many students finish the program in a year | Graduates a year | Texas: IPEDS completions. Other states: U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard, Field-of-Study file | Texas: a three-year rolling average of completions. Other states: the count of graduates the Field-of-Study file reports for the program, for one recent year, so read it as approximate. "—" when no count is published. |
| Order of chips | — | — | — | Within each block, programs with the most graduates come first. |
No tuition amount is printed on this page. For costs, use the ROI Calculator or the degree's page.

Worked example
A counselor in Georgia notices a local college on the list of schools with no tuition data and wants to know what it teaches.
- On Schools/Universities With No Tuition Data (state: Georgia) she types the college's name and clicks its card, which ends in View programs →.
- The page title is the college's name. The meta line shows its city, "Georgia" and its school type. The notice says tuition data is not available, so the chips are plain text.
- The Undergraduate Programs block lists chips such as a nursing program marked "Associate's Degree · N grads/yr", the busiest programs first. There is no graduate block because the college reports none.
- She types "nurs" in Search programs; only nursing programs stay and the count line drops.
- Since the chips cannot open the calculator, she goes to Degrees, finds the same field, and compares other Georgia schools that do have costs.
Common questions
- Why can't I click the programs?
- The school has no usable in-state tuition (none on record, $0, or more than $80,000 a year), so the ROI Calculator cannot model it. The notice under the title says so.
- What do "grads/yr" and "graduates (latest year)" mean?
- Both are roughly how many students finish the program in a year. In Texas, "grads/yr" is a three-year average from IPEDS completions. In other states, "graduates (latest year)" is the graduate count from the College Scorecard's Field-of-Study file for one recent year, so it can jump from year to year. "—" means no count is published, often because the class is small.
- Why are the programs grouped more broadly outside Texas?
- The College Scorecard's Field-of-Study file reports programs by field family, so a school's computer programs may appear as one family entry rather than several specific ones.
- Why does the page say "We don't have degree-program records for this school yet."?
- There are no program records for this school in the state you have chosen. Check that Showing data for is set to the school's state.
- Why is the state missing from the line under the title?
- The state's name is shown only when the school is in the state you have chosen in Showing data for.
- Where is the school's tuition?
- This page does not print tuition. Use the ROI Calculator (by clicking a chip, when the school has tuition) or the degree's page, whose Annual Direct Cost column includes it.
What this does NOT do
- It is not a course catalog or an admissions page. Program names are federal field names, not the school's own course titles.
- It does not show costs, salaries or outcomes for a program; the calculator and the degree's page do that.
- It is not advice, and completion counts are past figures, not a forecast.
- It stores nothing about you. Sign-in is only for saving reports.
- It does not open the calculator for schools without usable tuition.
